THE BUZZ HAS STARTED!

Follow Route 44 to Route 7 North in Canaan; take 7 North to 7A (a left before the State Police Barracks), and follow it less than a mile to a construction site on the left just after the bridge. Here you will discover the oldest Grist Mill in Western Massachusetts now being transformed into a stunning, unique residence which we are representing FOR SALE. The property will be ready for viewing at the Sheffield Land Trust Benefit on Saturday October 20th between 10 AM and 4PM. It is a ticket entry event and what you see will "bowl" you over. Tickets will be available here and at several locations around The Mill. You can call 413-229-0234 as well.
It is one of the most magical offerings ever available in the Berkshires, or the surrounding area, in years. Built in 1737 and in the Ashley family for four generations, it produced cracked grain for livestock, and later ground flour. More history can be seen at the "event". Originally water-powered, the Mill and much of the old gearing is preserved and viewable in the new wine cellar. There could be potential for water generated power but that will be up to some lucky owner to deal with after purchase.
It is being restored Howard Chezar, and the interior designed by Patricia Fox, and is being marketed exclusively by my firm, Robinson Leech Real Estate. Watch this space, our web site, and ads that will be appearing shortly. The interior will be viewable after October 20th. I invite the curious to drive by and see the progress which takes on a whole new level when water cascades over the dam/spillway, and into the Mill's pond. There is nothing like it, anywhere.
