A BEAUTIFUL FALL...
9.27.07
...is "in progress" all around our area. Color is beginning to infiltrate the trees, both in the valleys where there is water, and in some of the hills. Some think that it may not be a good foliage season, but I predict it will be just fine. You can get a sneak preview of its potential if you wear a pair of rose colored (sun) glasses which make the reds and oranges jump right out at you.
Maintenance issues that should be on your "radar" include cleaning out the roof gutters after the leaves have fallen; dropping the storm panels of combination storm and screen window systems; a pre-firing of you heating system, if unused all summer, to check that it is working properly; closing of your fireplace flues to conserve heat; and updating any clock, programmable thermostats that may run your system in your absence.
Currently there are a (very) few serious new lookers/buyers "floating" around. There are pre-existing lookers, some into their 2nd year of looking, and they are looking for better pricing! While they have a lot to look at their standards are not really changing (read, compromising) as to what they will actually buy. Although there are many new listings, the characteristics of many of these listings are failing to meet the buyers’ wants.
Agents are working hard with each new or existing buyer client. Sellers will need to think hard about how to respond, when and if they receive an offer.
