Hot on the heels of last week’s column, here are some local statistics for two towns in the NW corner: Salisbury and Sharon:

September saw 5 closings in each of these Towns.

October was a busy month in both towns with 13 closings occurring in Salisbury, 8 in Sharon.

November and December got very interesting for each town. Closings dropped dramatically, as follows:

In Sharon, 4 closings occurred in November, but only 1in December!

In Salisbury, it was just slightly better with 4 closings occurring in November, and 4 in December.

I have not checked on other towns in the corner, but I have reason to believe that the records are similar or worse in Norfolk, Falls Village, Canaan, and Cornwall.

There is some (very) custom buying going on which will see a few closings in January, however looking beyond, the "jury" is out as to whether activity will pick up or stay the same, that being somewhat slow.

Now, there are roughly 40-45 real estate licensees working out of real estate offices between the Towns of Salisbury and Sharon. Add those agents in the other listed Towns and it is easy to see that there are only a few persons, or offices, fortunate enough to be part of the closings that took place between September and the end of last year.
