RECYCLING YOUR OLD ELECTRONICS
03.13.08
MARK your CALENDAR - MARCH 22nd; TWO Saturdays from the date of this column.
On this day, there will be a GREAT opportunity to get rid of your old computers, TVS, phones, radios, cameras, printers, monitors, modems, and other SIMILAR electronic "junk". Even old printer cartridges are acceptable. Do NOT bring appliances, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, air conditioners, refrigerators. It is for a worthy cause and will cost you a voluntary donation (generally $1-$4 per category item) to/for Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s "Water For Africa" project. There is no charge for items coming from non-profits, schools, and municipalities.
The place: Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village.
The Time: 9 AM - 3 PM.
All working items may be donated to charities; non-working items will be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. The best part is that you can get them out of your basement, attic, or hobby room!
Because it is an "ELECTRONICS" round up, leave all other "stuff"/debris at home. There will be another hazardous waste recycling day for this stuff, sometime in the future.
Further information can be obtained by contacting Douglas Weisman at HVRHS. He is the Recycling advisor and can be emailed via dweis63@yahoo.com . This is an opportunity not to be overlooked!
