REALITY PRICING
05.07.08
There is some evidence that pricing on new listings is coming into line with (my) current thinking on values as the real estate market stumbles into the summer. That is a good thing; the real challenge for those of us in real estate trying to sell the listings, will be to convince buyers now looking, that this "new" pricing is indeed good value.
Some significant, and also appropriate, price reductions have also been occurred on several listings around the NW corner in the last couple of weeks; this should be good as well. What is wonderful about this time of year is the beauty that comes over all the properties around here with the advent of the new Spring foliage. These next couple of weeks will complete the re-growth of new foliage, the blooming of gardens, and everything else that makes this area a glorious place to live.
Two great publicly attended events occurred in our area last week. A RECORD town meeting of residents for a vote in the Town of Salisbury, and the viewing of "Visions of Iron", a narrative history of the iron industry that occurred in Salisbury and throughout the NW corner of CT and NY between the 18th and 20th Centuries. It reaffirms, to me, the excitement of living in this part of the country.
09.09.10 SOME SEPTEMBER THOUGHTS
What goes up, inevitably, for the moment, comes down, and so it goes with oil as this is written on 9/7.
09.02.10 SOLAR PANEL - A PROBLEM
Solar panels are an increasing 'accessory' around our tri-corner area.
08.26.10 OIL REVISITED
Some of our heating oil vendors have been holding off on setting Contract pricing for heating oil prices, hoping the barrel price would be coming down.
08.19.10 QUIET AS A COFFIN?
The above was the description of the activity (on his home) given to me by a home owner with a house for sale in Stamford, CT.
07.29.10 THE PROBLEM WITH GREEN: AESTHETICS
The question of aesthetics may come into focus if building green becomes the norm for future homes.
07.22.10 WEATHER TURBULENCE REIGNS
Storms have been playing havoc causing power interruptions, fallen trees, and broken branches around the NW corner.
07.15.10 FANS AND LAWNS
The lack of rain made many lawns turn brown. They are not really dead in most cases, despite their appearance.
