MARCH TIDBITS
03.05.09
It appears to this Realtor® that excessively large dwellings are "out of favor" for most future buyers;
Extreme discounts for certain properties are just now "appearing" in our area;
Heating oil hit a new "season" low (for me), at MY last delivery: $2.06.9/gallon.
Interest rates can be found below 5% for some loan categories;
FICO rates changed, upward, last week DIS-qualifying some borrowers (once) approved at a 580 score, no longer approved at a 625 level.
A week ago, we were "teased" by a "helping" of spring-like temperatures; Monday we were shocked back into the reality that Winter still is here.
We are in the "season" of rolling road pavement. The dips and humps are all over the place and, in one case in Sharon was front end damaging at only 25 mph, "found" Monday during the snow storm which nicely hid it!
You have to leave the NW CT corner and nearby NY state area to find gas that is "appropriately priced" to its barrel cost at port. The "mini price competition between Millerton and Lakeville will likely not be stable.
Conversely, Massachusetts may be poised to have the highest State gas tax in the country. If enacted the Gt. Barrington/Sheffield area will no longer be a preferred gas purchase area. Will our State follow?
Finally, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS STARTS this SATURDAY. Remember to set your clocks ahead Saturday night.
