CHANGES - ALL GOOD

03.12.09

As we go from the frozen Winter season to a drier Spring season, the ground is rumbling with change as the frost "heaves" its way to the surface, causing our dirt roads to temporarily become muddy, heavily rutted paths, and paved roads to feel like speed bumps. Annoying? Yes. A sign of better weather to come? Absolutely!

Other changes often involve real estate offices, as many of you have noted in the past few weeks. Changes AT offices also occur and two long time associates at my office, Mimi Harson and Bob Selby, have moved down the street to the new Sotheby's office. Sometimes, "the more things change, the more they stay the same".

This, in fact, is the case at my office. The names of my associates will change, but both the office location and the business name remain the same, as it has been for over 37 years. Also the high energy, enthusiasm for the business, and creativity that produce results will continue, unabated!

Consultation advice, given by me, will continue to be objective and, as always, in the best interests of the client. Thirty-seven continuous years in business around here gives me the best perspective for giving out accurate advice on what makes real estate "tick" around our lovely tri-state corner.

The market is starting to change as well. The signs are very subtle and invisible to many, but they are about. This does not yet allow some of my clients to alter the suggestions given to them over the last few months, since, just like a doctor-patient relationship, each case is different, requiring different decisions to deal with the changing times.

SOME SEPTEMBER THOUGHTS
What goes up, inevitably, for the moment, comes down, and so it goes with oil as this is written on 9/7.

SOLAR PANEL - A PROBLEM
Solar panels are an increasing 'accessory' around our tri-corner area.

OIL REVISITED
Some of our heating oil vendors have been holding off on setting Contract pricing for heating oil prices, hoping the barrel price would be coming down.

QUIET AS A COFFIN?
The above was the description of the activity (on his home) given to me by a home owner with a house for sale in Stamford, CT.

THE PROBLEM WITH GREEN: AESTHETICS
The question of aesthetics may come into focus if building green becomes the norm for future homes.

WEATHER TURBULENCE REIGNS
Storms have been playing havoc causing power interruptions, fallen trees, and broken branches around the NW corner.

FANS AND LAWNS
The lack of rain made many lawns turn brown. They are not really dead in most cases, despite their appearance.
