09.17.09 I heard recently that the incandescent light bulb is an 'endangered' product. Europe is phasing out the incandescent light bulb and the 100 watt bulb is apparently the first bulb to be taken off the market in the future. This is part of a move to 'force' us to switch to more energy efficient lighting, namely the compact flourescents. I understand the this will occur in the U.S. as well, but probably not for a few years, yet. Moving to Real Estate, despite lots of talk of a slow market, here and there, one property after another is selling out of the market. They mostly are those that have been around for a while, have seen some price modifications, and have been the target of prospects who have been 'in the hunt' for a while and figured it was time to throw out, or in, an offer to see if the owner would make a deal. Good purchase prices have resulted, very good, to excellent for the buyer, accepted by the seller who has made a business decision, at some level, to move on. Last week's closing comments still are relevant however. A revised 'mind-set' by buyers has effectively changed the dynamics of our real estate market and it is a new 'ball game' from here on out. ©2009 R. Leech features.
